![]() This soothes both brain and body-you calm your mind, get rewarded with a nice treat, and then walk it off.all while getting out of the house. You get an ice cream and eat it as you walk home. You choose an ice cream shop close to your house (but not too close) and walk there. An ice cream walk is something you do when you're feeling depressed, anxious, unemployed, or some combination thereof. Langan: “I keep meaning to send you my tiny passion, which is ICE CREAM WALK. And the best part - it's still ice cold! What a treat.” Then right after waking up, I grab the bottle and take five big gulps of water. I fill up a S'Well™ bottle with ice cold water and place it on my nightstand. Thank you, cheetos team, for a little humanist pick-me-up.”Įllena: “I am passionate about drinking some water first thing in the morning. Like, how did someone think of cheesy styrofoam curls? And then a bunch of other people figured out how to make that exist, which seems complicated and impressive. We made these things! They don't resemble anything in nature, and they're something good that humans created. Miranda: “I love cheetos (especially the puffy ones) because they are delicious and styrofoamy, and also because they make me feel optimistic about humans. While I listened, I cleaned the house, I walked around, I pet the dog, I smiled, I learned, I laughed, I learned. Listening to this podcast, The Redemption of Jar Jar Binks, I thought, why don’t I listen to more of these? Are all podcasts like this? It was so funny and warm and thoughtful, and at times emotional and heartfelt! It’s about the major blowback to the Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks, but also about the man who played him, Ahmed Best, and how his life was changed, first when he got the part, then when everyone hated him, then again years down the road, when people started to change their tune. I spend so many of my waking hours in complete silence. ![]() When my friend Dylan sent me a couple episodes of his new podcast to listen to, I found myself devouring them and pleading for more. I almost never listen to podcasts, I don’t know why. The show always ends with 60 seconds of un-narrated nature footage that feels like the longest 60 seconds in television history. It’s 90 minutes long, hosted by Jane Pauley in a dress suit, and features 5-6 different stories about art and culture and history, all separated by little trumpet noises and artwork of the sun. But I watched it again last Sunday (9am EST) and it is just such a good program. I know, I know, it’s in the title of the show. I used to watch it all the time, but then I forgot when it was on. I forgot how much I love CBS Sunday Morning. If you decide to buy some, when you make it, just add an extra 2 cups of water. If I had to guess, maybe Neon, Boron, and Helium. I can taste at least three things from the periodic table of elements with every sip. But there is something so nice about having a big, cold pitcher of bright pink liquid in the fridge during the humid months. I know it’s not the most fashionable drink right now. ![]() This week’s passions include: Crystal Light, CBS Sunday Morning, and a Jar Jar Binks podcast. If it ever sees the light of day, and you get yourself a copy, make sure to hang it up on the wall next to your desk and flip a page once a month. ![]() I panicked and asked them to make it smaller, please make it smaller, and they said it would be $600,000,000 more dollars to do that, so we’re back at big and floppy calendar book. Recently, I realized with horror that I’d accidentally chosen a book size that was big and floppy, like a calendar. I’m publishing it through a website I don’t know how to navigate. If you’re ever thinking of self-publishing a book, just know this part is the worst. I am in the midst of self-publishing this murder mystery called Murder on Sex Island, and every time I think I am close to being done, I realize I’ve misspelled 100 different words and that the phrase “A chill ran down my spine” occurs 16 separate times. ![]()
